Mini Suitcase Rummage
It was a lovely night, and Suitcase Rummage organisers Daniele and Isabel did a wonderful job lighing our wares using battery-operated tealight candles and strings of pretty fairy lights.
To say thank-you I gave Steph, who is absolutely wonderful and sweet (with a voice to match!), one of my cross-stitch pear badges only to be met with the offer of a swap for one her darling pear-themed creations that were for sale during the evening. I hear she will be opening an Etsy store soon, so stay tuned.
My neighbours were Tell Tale Zine, a monthly publication by Sarah Hazlehurst and Kirstie Sequitin.

Suitcase Rummage Wrap Up!
I'm so glad that my bunting worked out at this rummage. I usually pin it to the front of my tables or stick it to the wall behind me. I might need to make another one though, as this one has become a bit worn out. Note: do not use embroidery floss in lieu of twine.
This is one of my sweetest friends, Jessica. She moved to Melbourne earlier in the year but now she is back living in QLD. This was the first time I have seen her since the going-away farewell party!
Thanks a bunch to all the other lovely people I got to have chats with during the day, notably miss Lauren Carney (an art hero of mine whose work I adore so much I just had to have it tattooed onto my leg!). Also thanks to my friend Tess of A Beautiful Calamity, who is also my housemate/driver - cheers for taking my stuff home for me! It was also a pleasure to see Amanda Whitelaw from Hungry Designs and Melinda Hume of Moose and Bird.
Also cheers to all who came to enjoy the rummage. I hope you found some wonderful treasures and I hope to see you at the next one!

Cross-My-Heart
I'm a wee bit excited right now, because I have now got a nice (growing) collection of cross-stitch badges to share with you! They look super nifty when pinned to your favourite cardigan.
My favourites so far include the moustaches, black kitty cat, hearts, popsicle and spool of thread.
I'll be bringing all of these to the Suitcase Rummage today, so get in quick-sticks if you'd like a piece of stitchy-goodness.

Sunday Suitcase Rummage in September!
There's something about these markets that makes it that teeny bit different to other markets. It's not crazy strict with rules, it's laidback in terms of stall set-up and the vibe is great! A huge thanks to Danielle and Isabel for starting these markets.
I also bought a super sweet fabric goat brooch from Simmone at the Little Orchard stall and some sailor kitty iron on patches from Jimmy (which I will use to decorate a white dress which looks like a nurses uniform but is actually an old school uniform I picked up from an opshop). Another favourite purchase was a gorgeous cream coloured vintage hat from Rock City. It has black and navy netting and a cream bow; the seller told me it was originally her Great Great Grandmothers! I was awestruck!
What did you find at the Suitcase Rummage? I'd love to hear all about it!

Suitcase Rummage Re-cap!
It was such a wonderful day - I met new people, spotted my friends and had chats (or, rather, they spotted me as I was wearing my brightest, pink-est 60's dress!) bought some things, sold some things and generally had a ball.
I promise not to waffle on as I have to get cracking on hand-stitching some embroidered badges for next Sunday's market (Marky Markets at Hifi in West End, 15th August 11-5pm).

Marky Markets
I've been having a bit of trouble lately with getting days off work to participate in various markets.
From now on I am prepared to fight long and hard for my right to skip work and flog my handmade wares to the Brisbane public, since completely missing out on last Sundays Suitcase Rummage (save for a super quick lunchbreak-chat with fellow stallholders, including my housemate Tess of A Beautiful Calamity, who kindly offered to sell my badges while I worked for the man)
Therefore, I kindly request that you all join me in super-tight-finger-crossing that I can have my own stall at the next Marky Markets market. Phew! Tongue twister!
Marky Markets are all about vintage and handmade everything. The last market was at the Boundary Hotel in West End, but has since confirmed a new location - The HiFi in West End and is expected to be bigger and better!
The details:
What: Marky Markets
Entry: Free
Where: HiFi - West End
When: Sunday 18th July 2010
Time:11am - 5pm
PS. If you are keen to have a stall, shoot them a quick email before all the places are snapped up! It's bound to be a whole lot of fun.
